WEEKENDERS!

And there's news of possibly the weirdest collaboration of the year...

Veterans MC5 and SUPER FURRY ANIMALS are two of the latest additions to the RADIO 1 STAGE at the CARLING WEEKEND in LEEDS and READING, NME.COM can reveal.

Other additions include Auf der Maur, 22-20s, Deus, The Stills, Dogs Die In Hot Cars and Von Bondies, who all play below headliners Supergrass and Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster on Friday 27 in Leeds and Sunday 29 in Reading.

The MC5 are below Funeral For A Friend and Har Mar Superstar on the bill, followed by Icarus Line, The Ordinary Boys, Graham Coxon, Soulwax, The Bronx and Bloc Party, who will play Saturday 28 in Reading and Sunday 29 in Leeds.

Super Furry Animals play under Donnas. The co-headliners will be supported by Razorlight, Wildhearts, The Ordinary Boys, Dizzee Rascal and The Ordinary Boys on Friday 27 in Reading and Saturday 28 in Leeds.

The announcement comes with the news that Soulwax want to hook up with Har Mar Superstar when they share the bill on the Radio One Stage at this year’s event.

Soulwax‘ singer Preston told NME.COM: “We’re really looking forward to playing Reading and Leeds for the first time. We’re going to try and coax [/a] onstage as we have a special surprise planned if he’s up for it.”

NME.COM understands that the mooted collaboration would be a song by seminal DC hardcore band Bad Brains.
