FOUND THOSE SOULS

They're also planning a footie match...

KASABIAN opened up V FESTIVAL on a high with a massive crowd.

The anarcho-baggy farmboys were booked to open the NME Stage today (August 21) in Stafford today long before current single ‘LSF’ went Top Ten and made them one of the UK’s hottest properties.

Taking the stage at lunchtime, they drew an unprecedented crowd for an opening act. Guitarist Serge Pizzio told NME.COM: “We just played in front of 14,000 people, so yes. It’s fucking awesome.”

“This is what festivals are all about, man,” continued singer Tom Meighan. “Just everyone having a good time and playing music, man.

“We’re going to go and see Black Rebel later. I think we’re going to get a football game going backstage too. We’ll challenge the Primals – and we’ll fucking beat ‘em.”

Kasabian will be keen to check out their mentor, Mani, when his band headline the JJB Arena: “We’re definitely going to go and hang out with Mani, he’s a good man. Salt of the fucking Earth mate,” said Tom.

Serge added: “He’s got the eyes, man. He’s got the same eyes as us.”
