READING/LEEDS NEW BANDS STAGE REVEALED!

NME.COM can disclose who is playing the Carling Stage at the Carling Weekend - and it's a cracking line-up...

THE HISS, THE BLACK KEYS, HAR MAR SUPERSTAR and Brendan Benson

are among the first bands confirmed for the CARLING STAGE at this year’s CARLING WEEKEND: READING AND LEEDS festivals.

NME.COM can exclusively reveal the main acts on the stage, which gives new and cult bands a platform. At Reading only on the Friday (August 22), current Queens Of The Stone Age

singer and ex-Screaming Trees man Mark Lanegan will make a rare solo appearance. Others who will play at Reading on the Friday and Leeds on the Saturday (23) are Sparta and The Black Keys.

The following day in Reading (August 23) and Sunday in Leeds (24) Billy Bragg and Brendan Benson

will play, while the closing the festival in Reading and opening it in Leeds will be British Sea Power and Manitoba.

Other confirmed bands include Hope Of The States, Har Mar Superstar, Soledad Brothers, The Sights, Longview, Calla, Instruction, The Songs, Winnebago Deal, The Stills, Ima Robot, The Revs, Keane, White Light Motorcade, Whirlwind Heat, The Sun, The Go, The Agenda, The Hiss, Rocket Science, The Revs, Cardia and The Prosaics.

This year’s event is confirmed to take place between Friday, August 22 and Sunday, August 24 at Bramham Park in Leeds and Richfield Avenue in Reading. Some tickets are still available for the Leeds event. To snap them up call the NME Ticketline on 0870 1 663 663.
