Noel Gallagher, Jarvis Cocker amongst celebrity fans who gather to watch the Detroit duo...
White Stripes frontman Jack White walked from the main-stage at Reading and immediately hugged waiting Strokes singer Julian Casablancas.
The pair spoke for a time before Casablancas hobbled off on his crutches.
A breathless White was more than happy with his show.
“It felt like one hand was on my shoulder pulling me this way and the other pulling the other way – good and evil at the same time,” he told NME.COM. “I think the sheriff won that one.
The band attracted the biggest number of celebrity fans of the day so far with Jarvis Cocker, Noel Gallagher and Dandy Warhols amongst those in the wings.
“I didn’t know they were there,” said White. “But you know, I don’t get pressured, I don’t know why, I never feel it. I’m not bragging about that, I just don’t feel it.”
White Stripes will watch The Strokes tonight before heading to the Leeds leg of the festival.
