A bunch of top names added to this year's line up for Reading and Leeds...

Interpol, Electric Six, Libertines,

PRIMAL SCREAM and this week’s NME cover stars HOT HOT HEAT are the latest additions to this year’s THE CARLING WEEKEND: READING AND LEEDS festivals, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.

As we revealed last week, this year’s event is confirmed to take place between Friday, August 22 and Sunday, August 24 at Temple Newsam in Leeds and Richfield Avenue in Reading, subject to licence.

Electric Six

and Polyphonic Spree

have both been confirmed to appear on the Radio 1 stage below Libertines and Elbow on the Friday at Reading (22) and Saturday in Leeds (23).

Doves have nabbed a Main Stage slot on the Saturday at Reading and Sunday at Leeds, belowWhite Stripes, AFI, Beck, Cooper Temple Clause and Blur. The Radio 1 stage that day will feature Sum 41, System Of A Down, Music and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

On the Sunday at Reading, which opens the festival in Leeds, Primal Scream will play the Main Stage after Courtney Love and before [/a]. Other bands playing that day are Metallica, [a] and Good Charlotte. The Radio 1 Stage features [/a], [a] and Hot Hot Heat.
