OH NO! OH YEAH!

Traffic problems lead to the band pulling an NME Signing Tent session - but they make it in time to play...

YEAH YEAH YEAHS averted a double disappointment this afternoon as their

LEEDS FESTIVAL appearance was threatened.

After being forced to pull out of last year’s Carling Weekend, the band

were caught out in traffic and had to pull out of their scheduled session in

the NME signing tent.

As the band winged their way to Leeds, the day was saved by Scottish emo

heroes Biffy Clyro, who stepped into the breach and satisfied the YYYs

fans as well as their own. Yeah Yeah Yeahs arrived safely on time for their

first ever UK festival date.

Their extended signing session topped one of our most packed days

ever, with The Music, Hot Hot Heat, Hell Is For Heroes, Sum 41 and Good

Charlotte all working overtime to meet their fans.

Hot Hot Heat in particular were so taken with our hospitality that they

invited two of the NME team onstage to dance.

Meanwhile, Leeds backstage is turning into a party of UK and US

hardcore, with Hell Is For Heroes, Biffy, Instruction, Kinesis and Serafin all

hanging onto the end to pay tribute to Metallica, who headline the Main Stage tonight. Check back to NME.COM later for the first report.
