The new acts tipped for greatness next year

The first wave of acts for The Great Escape 2017 line-up has been announced, packed with the new bands tipped for huge things in the year ahead.

Among the first 50 to be announced are rising Nordic punks Sløtface, political Mancunian noise-rockers Cabbage, and urban blues sensation Rag’n’Bone Man. The Brighton festival will showcase the best and most promising new talent set to dominate music in the year ahead. In the past, it’s given a platform to the likes of Royal Blood, Years & Years and Blossoms before they made it big.

“TGE continues to break the mould and here we come again with the first 50 bands confirmed to play in 2017 that demonstrate what a unique and diverse festival we are,” said Great Escape event manager Kevin Moore. “We’re truly delighted to welcome Rag’n’Bone back to the event for our first Spotlight Show, it’s going to be an incredible homecoming performance. It’s our mission to give everyone the opportunity to discover their new favourite artist and with the introduction of our festival ticket deposit scheme, as well as the return of our Young Adult tickets for those aged 16 and 17, the festival is more accessible than ever before. Roll on May!”
