FISCHERSPOONER HEAD LIST OF MELTDOWN ADDITIONS

So Bowie's a fan, eh? What a surprise...

FISCHERSPOONER, THE THE and YEAH YEAH YEAH’S are the latest bands confirmed for this year’s MELTDOWN FESTIVAL.

Meltdown takes place annually at the Festival Hall and QEH, and started life as a classical event. Each year a prominent or influential member the music world is approached to curate, and as time has progressed the festival has become more rock orientated. This year’s event runs between June 12-30, curated by David Bowie.

‘Gorillaz’ Space Monkeyz Dub Session’, a one-off Meltdown event which was to see Damon Albarn’s virtual band collaborating with the ex-Specials vocalist Terry Hall (June 21) has been pulled, due to an “injury” to an unspecified bandmember.

However, Fischerspooner will now play on that night instead.

Other recent additions include Luke Haines on the Television bill (June 19), and Peaches in support of Suede (June 23).
