Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig interviews Florence and Jamie xx delivers eclectic mix on Beats 1

Rashida Jones also talked about rejecting Robin Thicke in high school during Koenig's Beats 1 radio show

Vampire Weekend‘s Ezra Koenig discussed first meeting Florence And The Machine singer Florence Welch in the latest episode of his new Beats 1 radio show on Apple Music.

Apple’s long-awaited music streaming service launched last month (June 30) along with 24/7 online radio station Beats 1.

Koenig is among a host of musicians to present shows on the platform, as well as the likes of the likes of Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, Drake, Run The Jewels, St Vincent, Disclosure, Dr Dre, Pharrell Williams and more.

During the second episode of Time Crisis With Ezra Koenig, Koenig was joined by special guest Florence Welch, who described hiding in Koenig’s dressing room with Andrew VanWyngarden from MGMT at Reading Festival in 2008.

“Me and Andrew were sitting underneath your table that had your snacks on it,” Welch recalled. “We were supporting MGMT on their first European tour and Reading was in the middle of that.”

“We were shooting juice cartons through paper. We were hiding in your dressing room and we were going to surprise you.”
