The electronic musician hopes to work with director Kahlil Joseph

Flying Lotus has told fans that he’s writing a movie.

2014 was a busy year for the producer, with new album ‘You’re Dead!’ released, and now it appears that this year will be eventful too. Taking to Twitter, Flying Lotus said that whilst there also may be new music from his Captain Murphy moniker, he’s been predominantly occupied by writing a film.

“I’m just having too much fun making beats and writing this stupid movie,” he told one Twitter user, before adding: “Had a few story ideas that kind of intersected when I went to tokyo. So I been writing this movie for fun moments.Who knows what will happen”.

He also revealed that Kahlil Joseph, the director of his ‘Until The Quiet Comes’ short film, would be helping on the project.

Meanwhile, the electronic musician recently announced details of three UK and Ireland shows he will play later this year as part of a wider European tour.

Flying Lotus – real name Steven Ellison – will play London’s O2 Academy Brixton on April 17, followed by Manchester’s Albert Hall on April 18 and Dublin Vicar Street on April 19.
