As band reveal 2013 London gig at Royal Albert Hall
Foals premiere the video for their new single of ‘Inhaler’ exclusively on NME.com – click above to watch.
The track is the first full song to be made available from the band’s third album, ‘Holy Fire’, which is due for release in February 2013. ‘Inhaler’ can be downloaded now via iTunes.
The video has been directed by regular collaborator Dave Ma. ‘Inhaler’ received its first radio play on BBC Radio 1 earlier this evening (November 5).
Speaking to NME about the video, lead singer Yannis Philippakis said: “It’s a lot to do with rhythm and basic movement. Dave took a lot of influence from Japanese Butoh dancing and there is an almost sinister air to it. It’s a very homegrown video; we went to a special place that Dave converted.”
He continued: “We really wanted to do a free and fun video that drew on our extended family that was in keeping with some of our previous videos. At one point during the filming of the video we were playing and Dave just started shooting fireworks at us. It’s that kind of freedom that you wouldn’t normally get on a video, mainly because it’s illegal.”
Foals have also announced details of a short tour of intimate venues this November and December. They will play:
Sheffield Queens Social Club (November 28)
Leicester Lock 42 (29)
Stoke Sugarmill (30)
Doncaster Leopard (December 2)
Derby The Venue (3)
Gloucester Guildhall (4)
Southampton Cellar (6)
Bournemouth Sixty Million Postcards (7)
Aldershot West End Centre (8)
Brighton Concorde 2 (10)
Tunbridge Wells The Forum (11)
Additionally, Foals will also play a one-off London date at Royal Albert Hall on March 28 2013. Support on the night comes from Efterklang and tickets go on sale from 9am, Friday November 9.
