Special guests performed 'How Low Can a Punk Get' at Citi Field venue
Foo Fighters were joined on stage by Darryl Jennifer and Dr Know of Bad Brains during a gig in New York on Thursday (July 16).
The band were performing at at New York’s Citi Field when frontman Dave Grohl invited the special guests out to perform with the band and help him “live out my childhood fantasy”.
They played Bad Brains’ songs ‘How Low Can A Punk Get’ and ‘The Regulator’ in what Dave Grohl described as “the greatest fucking moment of my entire fucking life”.
The July 16 gig was Foo Fighters’ second at the New York venue this week. On Wednesday they were joined by Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
During the group’s encore, they invited Smith onstage to play drums for a rendition of The Faces’ ‘Stay With Me’, which originally featured lead vocals from Rod Stewart.
Foo Fighters recently announced that they’ll return to the UK in September following the cancellation of their recent stadium shows and Glastonbury headline slot.
The band were forced to scrap their European tour in June when Dave Grohl sustained a broken leg at a gig in Sweden.
They will play two shows at Milton Keynes Bowl on September 5 and 6. Iggy Pop will support the band at the gigs.
