Franz Ferdinand album an international hit

‘You Could Have It So Much Better’ goes Top Ten in US

Franz Ferdinand have hit the Top Ten in America with album ‘You Could Have It So Much Better’.

The band’s second LP entered the Billboard chart at Number Eight after selling around 81,000 copies.

This is the highest placing by a band signed to a British indie label since the Prodigy’s ‘The Fat Of The Land’ was Number One in 1997. Coldplay, who are signed to a major label, scored their first US Number One for album ‘X&Y’ earlier this year, making 2005 a successful year for British releases abroad, trade title Music Week reports.
