Scottish band join the XX in making their live comeback in Spain

Franz Ferdinand have been confirmed for the 2012 Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona.

The Scottish band released their last album ‘Tonight: Franz Ferdinand’ in January 2009 and haven’t played a billed gig in the UK for almost two years, but have now confirmed their first show for next year.

The band’s guitarist Nick McCarthy had said earlier this year that the band would be regrouping and it now seems extremely likely that they will be touring Europe during the summer.

Franz Ferdinand join the The xx in announcing that their comeback show will take place at Primavera Sound.

Other acts to play at the festival, which takes place May 30 – June 3, 2012 at Parc Del Forum in Barcelona, are Bjork, Jeff Mangum, Yo La Tengo, Other Lives, Wilco, The Drums, Godflesh, Guided By Voices, Neon Indian, Josh T Pearson and Death In Vegas.
