FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND PULL OUT OF NME AWARDS SHOW

Singer Matt Davies' illness means the band will not be performing this evening...

Funeral For A Friend have been forced to pull out of this evening’s (January 29) NME AWARDS TOUR show in SHEFFIELD.

The band are currently blazing a trail across the country with Franz Ferdinand, Rapture and Von Bondies.

However, due to illness of a bandmember, the group will not be able to perform this evening. The show will continue with the other three bands, while Rapture will move from second on the bill to a headline slot for one night.

Funeral For A Friend fans who have tickets but now no longer wish to go to the show can obtain refunds from the point of purchase.

A spokesperson for the band said: “Funeral For A Friend are sad to have to announce that vocalist Matt Davies has been diagnosed with flu on a tour day off and under advice from his doctor told to rest. This regrettably means the band will not be able to appear at Sheffied tonight. The show is unaffected in any other way. The band are hoping to reschedule a show in Sheffield after the tour.”

The tour continues throughout this month, dates as follows: Liverpool University (30)

Manchester Academy (31)

Leeds University (February 2)

Nottingham Rock City (3)

Norwich UEA (4)

Portsmouth Pyramids (6)

London Brixton Academy (7)

Cardiff University (8)
