Singer reveals that the band are working on new material and hints at 2011 tour

Garbage have reunited and are set to release their first album in five years, according to Shirley Manson.

Speaking to the Herald Scotland, the singer confirmed that the band are working on new material for their fifth LP “right now” and even hinted that they will tour next year.

The band went on hiatus in 2005 when Manson left to record a solo album, although no material was ever released following an apparent dispute with her record company.

She commented: “We’ve recorded quite a lot but it’s difficult to quantify. We’re just winging it right now.”

Manson, who launched an acting career during the band’s hiatus, alluded to the sessions in a message to her Facebook followers earlier this year.

Garbage‘s last studio album, ‘Bleed Like Me’, was released in 2005.
