Missy is to remix a single from the band's forthcoming album 'Beautifulgarbage'...

GARBAGE are set to work with MISSY ELLIOTT on a forthcoming single, NME.COM can reveal.

Speaking exclusively to NME.COM, founder and core member Butch Vig said that plans to have the hiphop queen remix a track were well underway.

He said: “Shirley [Manson, lead singer] is good friends with Missy Elliott and has talked to her about doing a remix on a track and doing a different take on it. We’ve been talking about either [forthcoming single] ‘Androgyny’ or [album track] ‘Untouchable’ and we’ll just send it off to her and say ‘Missy do your thing, do whatever you want with it’, because we love her and love her sensibility which she brings to it.”

Vig also revealed that Garbage, who release third album ‘Beautifulgarbage’ through Mushroom on September 10 and single ‘Androgyny’ on September 3, were already planning a number of small-scale club shows this autumn ahead of a major tour kicking off in January 2002.
