Phil Collins announces first gig in four years

The singer will headline a charity concert in Miami

Phil Collins has announced details of his first gig in four years.

The singer will headline the Dreaming On The Beach Concert at the Fillmore Miami Beach on December 6. The gig is in aid of the Little Dreams Foundation, the charity he co-founded with his ex-wife Orianne Collins-Mejjati.

Other artists lined up to perform are Laura Pausini, Alejandra Guzmán, the Little Dreams band and “special guests”.

Earlier this year, Collins made a surprise appearance at his sons’ Miami school, performing ‘In The Air Tonight’ and ‘Land Of Confusion’ for pupils. He reportedly told the crowd that he was nervous playing his first show since retiring in 2011.

Back in January, he revealed that he is working on new music with Adele for her next album. He claimed to have not really heard of the singer but that he was writing new music with her having been impressed with her voice and level of success.

BBC2 recently announced that it is to screen a two-part documentary on Genesis, Collins’ former band, later in 2014, in which all the group will be reunited for the first time since original singer Peter Gabriel quit in 1975.

Discussing the possibility of a Genesis reunion, Peter Gabriel said back in April: “I never say never. It really didn’t happen last time. I think there’s a small chance, but I don’t think it’s very high.”
