FUNK LEGEND CONVICTED ON DRUGS CHARGES

George Clinton lears his punishment...

Funk legend GEORGE CLINTON has been sentenced to community services for drug offences.

The 63-year-old pleaded no contest to two drug paraphernalia charges and was given 200 hours community service, according to the BBC.

The charges date back to Clinton’s arrest in December last year, where police say he volunteered that he had a bag of crack cocaine and a glass pipe.

He will also have to pay $372 in court costs and be on probation for two years. Clinton’s lawyer, Matt Willard said that the musician was hoping to teach music education as part of the 200 hours, saying “He’s a big supporter of the arts.”

Clinton found fame with pioneering acts like Parliament and Funkadelic.
