GERI HALLIWELL has had her home trashed by thieves who stole up to £80,000 worth of personal possessions.

According to this morning’s Daily Star newspaper, Halliwell’s Notting Hill flat was broken into on Sunday (March 18) while the singer was in Paris. Reports claim the house was trashed, with the intruders pulling fixtures from the walls and covering the inside of the property with blackcurrant juice.

Various valuables were taken from the flat. According to The Sun newspaper, items removed include her personal computer and a necklace once owned by the actress Elizabeth Taylor.

A spokesperson for Halliwell said he does not believe the break-in had anything to do with former Spice Girl’s fame. He said: “Police believe there is nothing sinister about the break-in. It looks as if it was a simple burglary. The raiders didn’t even know who lived in the flat until they were inside.”

The star is said to be living in a nearby hotel while the damage to the flat is repaired.
