Giorgio Moroder working with Skrillex on new ‘Tron’ video game soundtrack

Producer said Disney approached him to work on soundtrack

Disco producer Giorgio Moroder has announced that he is working with Skrillex on the new Tron video game soundtrack.

In an interview with Clash, the producer said that Disney had approached him to compose the music from the video game. “We have about five themes, electronic stuff and let’s see if he’s [Skrillex] interested in remixing or re-working one of the songs,” Moroder said.

Moroder, who in the past has scored films such as Scarface, American Gigolo and Flashdance, added that he has a new offer to do a big movie. “I cannot tell you what, but it’s… not a 150 million dollars but a big movie, big production.”

Last month, Moroder revealed that he will work with Lady Gaga on the singer’s new album, stating he has “about five or six tracks” prepared. “I was supposed to be in the studio with [Gaga] a week ago, but I got a cold. I’ll see her when I’m back. I have about five or six tracks, just basic ideas. Drums, keyboard, bass. I’m going to be surprised, I think – I don’t have a clue about the way she’s recording. Will she play the piano? Will I?”

In November, Moroder announced details of his first solo album in 30 years, ’74 Is The New 24′. The record will feature a series of guest stars, including Charli XCX, Sia, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Mikky Ekko, and Foxes.

The album is due to released this spring.
