Girl Talk readies new album

Pittsburgh DJ also announces tour dates

Girl Talk has announced details of his forthcoming album.

The Pittsburgh DJ, whose real name is Gregg Gillis, is currently working on his fourth studio album, tentatively titled ‘Wild Peace IV: Feed The Animals, Raise The Dead’.

Known for sampling artists ranging from The Verve to Outkast, Girl Talk plans to release the follow-up to 2006’s ‘Night Ripper’ in late spring or early summer.

“This album is going to be dense with samples like my previous releases, but I’m trying to give some of the parts more room to breathe,” Gillis said in a statement.

“The new material definitely has its share of quick cuts, but it’s less dependent on that style,” he added.

Girl Talk has also announced the following live dates:

Athens, GA Georgia Theatre (March 28)

Morgantown, WV 123 Pleasant Street (April 4)

New Haven, CT Toads Place (25)

Richmond, VA Toads Place / Richmond (May 2)

Millvale, PA Mr. Smalls Theatre (9)

Chillicothe, IL Summer Camp (23)

Jersey City, NJ All Points West Festival (August 8)
