Emily Eavis picks up the prize

Glastonbury has been voted Best Festival at the Shockwaves NME Awards.

Festival organiser Emily Eavis picked up the prize from guest presenter Maximo Park‘s Paul Smith at London‘s O2 Brixton Academy tonight (February 24).

“Thank you to everyone who voted for us,” Eavis said as she accepted the trophy. “It means so much that it’s been voted for by the fans. Thanks for sticking with us through rain and shine.”

The other nominations in the category were: Download, Reading And Leeds Festivals, T In The Park and V Festival.
