West Holts Stage to make debut at 2010 event
Called the West Holts Stage stage, it will be held at the same location as the Jazz World Stage, which it is replacing.
Organiser Michael Eavis explained the reason for changing the name of the stage to Glastonburyfestivals.co.uk.
“We’re going back to the real roots of Worthy Farm and its history with the name change for the stage,” Eavis said. “West Holts was a ‘halt’ originally; one of the two places where we had to open the level crossing gates across the old railway line to get the cattle through for milking. It was a fair walk up to the farm, just as it is now, and those cows took some driving!”
As previously reported, a limited number of resale tickets for Glastonbury will go on sale on April 11. This will be the last opportunity for fans to buy tickets for this year’s bash, which takes place on June 23-27.
