Record number of fans arrive at Glastonbury early

Worthy Farm is already buzzing say organisers

More festival goers have arrived at Glastonbury earlier than ever before this year.

Although most of the stages do not get going until tomorrow (June 23) morning, the gates to the festival site have been open since 8am yesterday and more punters than in previous years have arrived to soak up the atmosphere.

“There are so many people here already,” organiser Emily Eavis told NME.COM. “There’s a real buzz around the site, I’ve never seen so many people on a Wednesday, but don’t worry there is plenty of camping space still left.”

Some music and entertainment are set to get underway tonight (22) before everything cranks up on Friday.

NME.COM will be bringing you news, blogs, videos and pictures live from the site all weekend.
