Glasvegas to record Christmas album in Transylvania

James Allan reveals all about forthcoming festive release

After revealing in NME that they plan to release a Christmas album this winter, Glasvegas have gone on to explain that they want to record the album in Transylvania.

Speaking to the Daily Record, frontman James Allan said he wanted to head for famous city in the eastern European country of Romania to find a cathedral to record the album in.

“I’ve written half of it already,” he said. “I’ve decided to record it in Transylvania because we wanted a cathedral to record in and Transylvania seems to be right.

“We won’t know how it will compare to Wham!’s ‘Last Christmas’ and it will probably never reach the level of Darlene Love‘s ‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’, but there’s something romantic about writing a Christmas album.”
