New track 'Time Eater' is taken from just-announced 3rd album

Multi instrumentalist and producer Gold Panda has announced details of a new album, single and tour it has been revealed today (February 23).

The producer has today signed to City Slang Records and will be releasing his third album ‘Good Luck And Do Your Best’ through the imprint on May 27.

Today, he announced his new album and label through a press release, which also noted that the album’s first single Time Eater, was available to stream and watch on YouTube. The albums follows previous LPs ‘Lucky Shiner’ (2011) and ‘Half of Where You Live’ (2013).

You can check the video for the forthcoming ‘Time Eater’ single in the player below.

The video for ‘Time Eater’ was created by Ronni Shendar, an Israeli visual artist who creates Gold Panda’s visuals for his shows, who recorded footage in NYC, Berlin, Cologne, Hong Kong and Las Vegas. Real name Gerwin, Panda wrote the album while touring Japan and recorded the results at home in Chelmsford, Essex.

“Halfway through the first trip we bought rail tickets and rode across the country and went to Hiroshima”. Derwin explains. “One afternoon we had taken a taxi, and as we got out, the Japanese taxi driver’s parting words to us as we left, were ‘good luck and do your best’.

“The album was recorded at home in Chelmsford, but I had that visual inspiration or documentation from Japan. So it was a look back. If you go in those months, Japan has this light that we don’t get here. It’s hard to explain. You know how LA has this dusk feeling? – that orange light that makes the place glow, and the neon signs? Well, Japan has this… at certain times of the year, it has this filter on stuff. So when we went the first time, there were a lot of pink and green colours. Mainly the buildings and cars and the people, and I think Laura captured those colours really well.”

Gold Panda has also announced a series of live shows,
including a London album release show in May plus UK and European summer festival appearances including London’s Tufnell Park Dome on May 29 and Field Day festival on June 11
