Gorillaz continue to tease their return and new album, this time unveiling ‘The Book Of Russel’ online.
The animated band made their online return last month across their social media accounts, with fans hoping that their new album would be coming soon. Then this week they shared the cover, pages and scenes from ‘The Book Of Noodle’, which so far tells the colourful story of the fictional band’s guitarist – picking up the adventure where they left off, after ‘Plastic Beach’.
Today, one fan took to Reddit to share that they’d met Damon Albarn who informed him that the new Gorillaz album would be finished in two weeks. Meanwhile, they’ve continued their ‘book’ series – this time telling the story of what happened to drummer Russel after ‘The Plastic Beach’:

The band’s fifth album and first since 2011’s ‘The Fall’ was originally due for release this year, but now looks set to drop net year after animator Jamie Hewlett said it was “really fuckin’ special” and “can’t be rushed”.
Back in July, Damon Albarn said: “Later in the year we’ll be starting to get the whole Gorillaz thing together. I’m loving it and it’s getting there. It should be ready fairly soon.”
