Gorillaz and D.R.A.M. share new version of ‘Andromeda’ following Grammy nomination

The band are up for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Dance Recording at next year's awards

Gorillaz and D.R.A.M. have shared a new version of ‘Andromeda’ after being nominated for next year’s Grammy Awards.

The cartoon group are up for Best Alternative Music Album for ‘Humanz‘ and Best Dance Recording for ‘Andromeda’ at the event. The latter is a collaboration with Virginian rapper D.R.A.M.

To celebrate the nods, the band have shared a new version of ‘Andromeda’, which features on the box set version of ‘Humanz’. Announcing its release, D.R.A.M. wrote on Twitter: “Andromeda was already perfect as it is, but the fact that we made a DRAM special is..special!”

The 2018 Grammy Awards will take place on January 28 and will be held at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Jay-Z is up for the most awards with eight nominations, while Kendrick Lamar could claim a total of seven, and Bruno Mars is up for six.

Gorillaz will go up against Arcade Fire (‘Everything Now’), LCD Soundsystem (‘American Dream’), Father John Misty (‘Pure Comedy’), and The National (‘Sleep Well Beast’) in the Best Alternative Music Album category.

With regards to the Best Dance Recording selection, they will face competition from Bonobo featuring Innov Gnawa (‘Bambro Koyo Ganda’), Camelphat & Elderbrook (‘Cola’), LCD Soundsystem (‘Tonite’), and Odesza featuring Wynne and Mansionair (‘Line Of Sight’).
