Gorillaz are pairing up with London radio station for a series of one-off shows

The shows will be exploring and celebrating the world of Gorillaz

Gorillaz have announced a collaboration with Brixton-based radio station Reprezent 107.3FM.

Celebrating the band’s live return to London, Reprezent 107.3FM will be airing a weekend of one-off shows featuring members of the Gorillaz family from all corners of the musical spectrum.

Damon Albarn and Remi Kabaka will be in conversation while Shaun Ryder is set to review this year’s Christmas songs.

‘Sunday Roast with Joe & Scully’ will feature a four-part series that tackles the themes across the four Gorillaz albums. Contributors to that discussion include ZSL, George Monbiot, Kieran Yates, Peter Robinson (Pop Justice), Dr Kate Devlin (Goldsmiths University) and Ciaran Thapar. There will also be interviews with Vince Staples and Bootie Brown among others.

The shows will air from 3pm on Saturday 2nd December to 11pm on Monday 5th December. You can find out more information here.

Meanwhile, Gorillaz have been confirmed for one of Europe’s biggest festivals, Roskilde.

After this summer’s festival saw performances from the likes of Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire, Justice, The Weeknd and many more, next year’s edition will welcome First Aid Kit, Fleet Foxes and Chelsea Wolfe alongside Stormzy, Albarn’s animated icons and the Talking Heads turned solo star David Byrne.

”Both Gorillaz and David Byrne embody the spirit of Roskilde Festival’s music profile,” Head of Programme Anders Wahrén. “They’re both exceptionally curious and open-minded, always on the lookout for new things to explore and incorporate in their music. We’re thrilled to have them as part of the same line-up combined with younger acts like Stormzy and First Aid Kit.”

Roskilde 2018 takes place in Denmark from Saturday 30 June – Sunday 7 July. Visit here for tickets and more information. See the full line-up so far below:
