Pixies man's group hit the road this summer
The duo, which also includes Black‘s wife, Violet Clark, will kick things off in Washington DC on July 16 before playing dates in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Chicago.
They’ll also make a stop at Coney Island‘s Siren Festival on July 18 and Chicago‘s Wicker Park Festival on July 25.
Speaking to NME.COM, the Pixies frontman admitted that touring can be very challenging as the parents of young children. “Grand Duchy is challenging because mommy and daddy are in the band,” said Black.
“We wish we could just throw money at the scenario, which is what we do, but unfortunately we’re just not in the bracket of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
“It’s really challenging touring with little people and making sure they’re comfortable. You can’t just throw them in the back of a van as we’ve found out. They have a lot of needs and touring is hard.
“We’re trying to figure out how to accomplish Grand Duchy stuff without making it a bummer for the kids.”
The band are supporting their recent debut album, ‘Petits Fours’.
The tour dates are:
Washington, DC Black Cat (July 16)
Hoboken, NJ Maxwell’s (17)
Coney Island, NY Siren Festival (18)
Cambridge, MA Middle East (19)
Chicago, IL Subterranean (24)
Chicago, IL Wicker Park Festival (25)
