Pop punkers will hit the road for 28 shows in late 2012 and early 2013

Green Day have announced a mammoth tour of the US and Canada for later this year and early next year.

The pop-punk trio, who release their new album ‘¡Uno!’, the first of their new trilogy, on September 24, will play a whopping 28 shows throughout November, December, January and February.

The runs of shows kick off in the relatively intimate surroundings of the Seattle Paramount Theater on November 26 and runs until February 8, when the band headline the 17,000 capacity Las Vegas MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The band’s new album trilogy, ‘¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!’, will be released in three stages. ‘¡Uno!’ comes out on September 24, with the second LP, ‘¡Dos!’, coming out on November 12 and ‘¡Tré!’ on January 14, 2013.

To coincide with the release of ‘¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!’, the band are also putting out a pair of documentaries. One is being made by Tim Lynch, a producer of the band’s recent DVD Green Day: Bullet In A Bible, and Tim Wheeler, a co-producer and editor of The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights. It will focus on the making of the band’s three new albums. A second documentary is being created from vintage footage shot during the band’s pre-‘Dookie’ days.

Last week the band announced a huge UK stadium show for next summer. The trio will headline London’s 60,000 capacity Emirates Stadium on June 1, 2013. Tickets for the show will go onsale on September 28.

You can hear ‘ Let Yourself Go’, the band’s new single, at the bottom of the page. The track is the third to be taken from ‘¡Uno!’, following the release of singles ‘Oh Love’ and ‘Kill The DJ’.
