Billie Joe Armstrong and his bandmates get on their motorbikes in their new promo
Green Day have debuted their new video for ‘Kill The DJ’, click above to watch it.
The video initially sees the pop-punk trio riding through the desert on motorbikes before they find their way to a dark nightclub.
Once inside, the band perform in front of a packed crowd and continue playing despite a fight breaking out between two women in the crowd, who both end up with bloody noses.
The band were forced to pull out of a show in Bologna, Italy after singer Billie Joe Armstrong was rushed to hospital with an undisclosed illness. He has since been discharged.
In a video to fans, which you can watch below, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool have apologised to fans, saying: “We sincerely apologise to our fans, but unfortunately due to illness Billie Joe has been hospitalised, and we regretfully must cancel our performance in Bologna, Italy this evening. We are beyond devastated and will make it up to you when we come back next summer.”
Last week the band announced a huge UK stadium show for next summer. The trio will headline London’s 60,000 capacity Emirates Stadium on June 1, 2013. Tickets for the show will go onsale at the end of next month on September 28.
The band’s new album trilogy, ‘¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!’, will be released in three stages. The first album, ‘¡Uno!’, comes out on September 24, with the second LP, ‘¡Dos!’, coming out on November 12 and ‘¡Tré!’ on January 14, 2013.
To coincide with the release of ‘¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!’, the band are also putting out a pair of documentaries. One is being made by Tim Lynch, a producer of the band’s recent DVD Green Day: Bullet In A Bible, and Tim Wheeler, a co-producer and editor of The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights. It will focus on the making of the band’s three new albums. A second documentary is being created from vintage footage shot during the band’s pre-‘Dookie’ days.
