Green Day have spoken about the inspiration for ‘Oh Love’, saying the song is about “shooting from the crotch”. Speaking to MTV News, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said: “‘Oh Love’ is kind of like leading with your heart and not necessarily with your brain as much. And also kind of maybe losing your mind, and shooting a little bit more from the crotch area.”

The stadium punk band have also teased plans for their own version of the mobile phone game Angry Birds at greenday-game.angrybirds.com. However, their own take on the computer game looks set to use pigs instead of birds, with the hashtag #greendaypigs listed on the holding page.

Green Day recently unveiled ‘Kill The DJ’, the second track to be taken from the band’s new album ‘¡Uno!’.

‘¡Uno!’ is the first of Green Day’s new album-trilogy ‘¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!’, which will be released in three stages. The first album ‘¡Uno!’ comes out on September 24, with the second LP ‘¡Dos!’ coming out on November 12 and ‘¡Tré!’ on January 14, 2013.

To coincide with the release of ‘¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!’, the band will also put out two documentaries. One is being made by Tim Lynch, a producer of the band’s recent DVD Green Day: Bullet In A Bible and Tim Wheeler, a co-producer and editor of The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights and will focus on the making of the three albums. A second documentary is being created from vintage footage from the band’s pre-‘Dookie’ days.

Green Day will play headline shows at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival and France’s Rock En Seine this month and a headline slot at I-Day festival in Bologna, Italy on September 2 as well as three shows in Germany in late August.
