Pop punkers continue to preview new material as they record album number nine
Green Day debuted a new track, which is titled ‘Carpe Diem’, during a live show in San Francisco earlier this week, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to watch them perform the track.
The band performed the track, along with a selection of other new songs, during a secret show at San Francisco‘s Mezzanine venue on Tuesday (November 1).
The pop punkers have previously said that their new ninth studio album will move away from the concepts of their last two records ‘American Idiot’ and ’21st Century Breakdown’ and be more straightforward. The track, which is more reminiscent of the band’s material on their 1997 album ‘Nimrod’, certainly suggests that this will be the case.
The band debuted a full 15 new tracks, including ‘Carpe Diem’, during a last minute show at the Tiki Bar 1700 Placentia in Costa Mesa, California earlier this summer. Other new tracks aired at that show included ‘Nuclear Family’, ‘8th Avenue Seranade’ and Amy Winehouse tribute track ‘Amy’.
Green Day‘s last release was a live album titled ‘Awesome As Fuck’ earlier this year.
