Grimes shares festive track and video ‘Christmas II (Grinch)’ – watch

The song is a collaboration with step-brother Jay Worthy

Grimes has shared a new festive track in collaboration with step-brother Jay Worthy entitled ‘Christmas II (Grinch)’ – scroll down to watch the singer’s home video now.

In the video, Grimes is seen dancing around the house with an axe, singing “It’s motherfucking Christmas”.

Posting to her Tumblr, Grimes – real name Claire Boucher – stressed that the track was nothing to do with her forthcoming fourth album but was just a way of “avoid[ing] obligatory dinner”.

The post reads:
“I like to periodically release songs since my album is taking so long and I make a lot of songs that I wouldn’t put on an album but I nonetheless enjoy so thats what this is.

Me and my step bro Jay Worthy make an annual christmas song with our siblings in order to avoid obligatory dinner. This is NOT a single from the upcoming album, not a serious piece of art in any capacity and not an official Grimes release.

Also — made this song in prob[ably] less than two hours so please excuse my terrible production, [and] it is not mixed or mastered.”

Grimes put the first ‘Christmas Song’ with Compton rapper Worthy online in 2012.

Meanwhile, Boucher recently opened up about the follow up to 2012’s ‘Visions’, stating that the record could be a double album.

Speaking back in September, Grimes said that she was “maybe halfway through” the album. “I’m kind of thinking about making a double album, half-way crazy experimental and half-way pop. I’m trying to figure out how to do it well,” she said of the release.

Grimes’ last studio output was standalone single ‘Go’ with Blood Diamonds in June.
