Grimes teases new music with clips of two tracks

A cheesy love song and a cyberpunk jam

Grimes has teased some new music with clips of two tracks. Posting the songs to Twitter, the Canadian artist described the first song as “a cheesy love song” that she doesn’t like “but everyone else likes.”

She described the second track as an “ethereal chav jam,” adding that it was “a cyberpunk interpretation of the bajirao mastani movie.”

You can listen to the two clips and see Grimes’ clips below.

The artist is currently working on her new album, which will follow 2015’s ‘Art Angels’. It’s rumoured that she will release two albums by the end of 2018.

Meanwhile, Grimes has collaborated with the K-pop band Loona on their new single ‘love4eva’. However, it’s not so clear as to where the 4AD-signed artist appears in the track. The synth-y tune’s video doesn’t feature the singer but with its bouncing electronics and sizzling key sounds in the bridge, it could be that Grimes provided instrumentation or production.

She also shared a potential tracklist for her new LP. Though the artist insists titles are “subject to change”, songs included ‘thats what the drugs r 4’, ‘Darq Souls’, ‘blaze forever like a useless star’, ‘Favourite Pyscho’, and ‘Nymphs At Versailles’.

As well as collaborating with Janelle Monae on ‘PYNK‘ from her acclaimed new album ‘Dirty Computer‘, Grimes has also teased new music made with Youtube sensation Poppy.
