Grizzly Bear cancel gig after Milan bus crash drama

Band 'fine' following road accident in Europe

Grizzly Bear have revealed they were involved in a bus crash during their European tour that forced them to cancel a gig.

The band were forced to pull a support slot with Wilco in Milan on Saturday night (November 14) after they had an accident in the early hours of Friday morning.

Posting a statement on their official site, Grizzly-bear.net they wrote: “Driving overnight after the show in Munich Thursday night, the bus and trailer were hit and rendered immovable. The trailer was wrecked and the bus engine split. Everyone involved is fine and spent a day in Austria pulling things together.

“However, a replacement bus and trailer was supposed to arrive earlier to pick everyone up in time to make the show in Milan as special guests to Wilco, but it did not show up for hours and thusly we missed the performance.”

Grizzly Bear are due to hit the road for a UK tour next spring. They will play:

Gateshead The Sage (March 8)
Edinburgh Queens Hall (9)
Brighton Corn Exchange (11)
Coventry Warwick Arts Centre (12)
London Roundhouse (13)
