The band will play 20 massive stadium dates in North America

Following a recent teaser, the reunited Guns N’ Roses have officially announced their summer tour.

At present, the band have lined up 20 dates, all in North America, beginning in Detroit on June 23 and concluding in San Diego on August 22. Tickets will go on sale this Friday (April 8) with pre-sale beginning the previous day (April 7).

The band have named the reunion run ‘The Not In This Lifetime Tour’, in reference to a now infamous line from Axl Rose. Asked about the possibility of reuniting Guns N’ Roses in 2012, the frontman replied: “Not in this lifetime.”

The band’s Facebook post announcing the tour reads: “Following months of intense rumor, speculation and feverish excitement from rock music fans around the world, Guns N’ Roses confirmed today they will embark on a massive North American summer stadium tour as founder Axl Rose and former members, Slash and Duff McKagan regroup for what will be one of the century’s most anticipated musical events.”

Guns N’ Roses have already confirmed two shows at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on April 8 and 9 ahead of their headline slot at US festival Coachella (which takes place with broadly the same line-up across two weekends) later in the month. The band are also rumoured to be playing a secret gig in Los Angeles tonight (April 1).

Though Slash and Duff McKagan will be stepping out on stage with Axl Rose at the reunion dates, original guitarist Izzy Stradlin has said he will not be participating.

Slash buried the hatchet with frontman Axl Rose in 2015 after nearly 20 years of bad blood between the pair. He previously declined to comment on the possibility of a reunion, having always ruled it out in the past.
