Guns N’ Roses classic line-up rumoured to play tiny Los Angeles warm-up gig

Band are already set to reunite for Coachella festival, plus other dates

A tiny venue in Los Angeles has hinted that Guns N’ Roses could be playing a warm-up show in the build-up to their classic line-up reunion tour.

Frontman Axl Rose has been confirmed to unite with Slash and Duff McKagan for a headline slot at US festival Coachella in April and warm up gigs in Las Vegas. It is expected that more live dates will be announced.

Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler had been expected to play a gig at the 500-capacity Whiskey-A-Go-Go bar in West Hollywood on April 1, but now the venue has announced that this show has been cancelled.

In a tweet confirming the news, the venue made a suggestion that has led fans to believe that the original gig will be replaced by a Guns N’ Roses warm-up show, perhaps featuring Adler on drums. Adler had previously spoken publicly in favour of the reunion.

The tweet reads: “The Steven Adler show on 4/1 has been canceled. Stay tuned for a big announcement ! #GunsNRoses”.

However, some Twitter users have noted the date of the gig in question, suggesting that it might be an elaborate April Fools hoax.

Original members Slash and Duff McKagan will step out on stage with frontman Axl Rose at the US festival in April. Further live dates, including rumours of UK festivals and a stadium tour, remain unconfirmed at present. Former member Izzy Stradlin has said he will have “no involvement” in any live shows.

Slash buried the hatchet with frontman Axl Rose in 2015 after nearly 20 years of bad blood between the pair. He previously declined to comment on the possibility of a reunion, having always ruled it out in the past.
