HEAR’SAY ON ‘THE WAY’ UP?

Will the 'Popstars' band prove to be a one-hit wonder? Wouldn't bet on it...

HEAR’SAY will find out if they can achieve more than one-hit wonder status this week, when they release their new single ‘THE WAY TO YOUR LOVE’.

The single, the follow-up to hugely successful chart-topper ‘Pure And Simple’ is released today via Polydor. However chart experts are predicting that the track is unlikely follow its predecessor to Number One and knock Mya, Pink, Christina Aguilera and Lil’ Kim‘s cover of ‘Lady Marmalade’ off the top spot after just one week.

A chart expert at Virgin Megastore in London commented: “Anyone expecting sales to match the previous single, which was a world record for a debut artist following massive prime time TV support and associated media coverage, is obviously deluded.

“Of course the single won’t do as well as the last one and possibly won’t get to Number One, but the fact their tour has sold out and extra dates added would suggest the Hear’say bubble has not burst yet.”

A spokesperson for HMV agreed. She said: “There are other big releases this week as well, and we wouldn’t be surpised if Gorillaz go to Number One, with ‘Lady Marmalade’ dropping one place to Number Two. It’s very early days though.”

Gorillaz release the follow-up to ‘Clint Eastwood’, ’19-2000′. Other notable new releases today come from ex-Another Level star Dane Bowers, who releases ‘Another Lover’ and the Backstreet Boys, who release their new single, ‘More Than That’.
