Here’s The Killers covering ‘Push’ by The Cure

"I was converted, I was officially converted and baptized by this song".

The Killers have paid tribute to The Cure by covering ‘Push’ by the alt-rock icons at a recent show.

As they performed at The Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, frontman Brandon Flowers explained how his brother had first introduced him to the Robert Smith-led band by lending him their cassettes.

In turn, this led to Flowers seeing The Cure at the very same Utah venue.

“It was wonderful and I had a wonderful experience”, Flowers explained.

Before playing the Head On The Door track, he added: “They played this song Push. I was converted, I was officially converted and baptized by this song Push.’

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that The Killers will return to the UK festival circuit for a headline show at Latitude Festival.

The Suffolk festival will return to Henham Park from Thursday 12 – Sunday 15 July, and sees both The Killers and Solange headlining as they make their Latitude debuts along with the return of Alt-J.

The Cure, meanwhile, are gearing up for a huge show at London’s Hyde Park this summer to mark 40 years since the release of their first single.

Robert Smith and co will be joined by a wide array of  special guests at the July 7 show – including the return of Interpol, along with Goldfrapp, Editors, Ride, Slowdive, and The Twilight Sad.
