The limited edition T-shirts and sweatshirts feature Charlie Brown, Snoopy and more alongside Hot Chip lyrics
Hot Chip have today announced a limited edition run of official merchandise emblazoned with the characters from famed US comic strip Peanuts.
Characters including Charlie Brown, Snoopy and Lucy Van Pelt appear alongside Hot Chip lyrics on a series of t-shirts and sweatshirts, launched in partnership with clothing brand TSPTR.
Writing on their website, the electronic outfit explained the new products:
“Hot Chip are delighted to announce a new collaboration between our good friends at TSPTR and Peanuts in the form of some amazing high qulity – and very limited edition – sweatshirts and T shirts! Now you too can sport your favourite Peanuts character whose thoughts have seemingly been infiltrated by your favourite Hot Chip song.”
The Peanuts comic strip was a daily strip written and illustrated by American cartoonist Charles M. Shultz. It ran from 1950 to 2000, publishing over 17,000 strips. The Peanuts Move is currently in production and due for release in November. It will be the fifth film based on the Peanuts characters and the first for 35 years. Watch the trailer here.
Meanwhile, Hot Chip are currently touring their latest album ‘Why Make Sense?’, which was recorded in Oxfordshire and London, and produced by the group with Mark Ralph. Speaking to NME last month, vocalist Joe Goddard said that being in the band remained “fun”.
“I don’t think I’ve ever questioned [the future of the band],” he said, before jokingly adding, “although, if I had some enormo mega-hit outside of Hot Chip, I’d obviously leave the band and pursue that”.
Following a number of festival appearances over the summer, Hot Chip will tour the UK in October.
Hot Chip will play:
Bristol O2 Academy (October 13)
Portsmouth Pyramid Centre (14)
Glasgow Barrowland (16)
Manchester Albert Hall (17)
Leeds Beckett University (18)
Nottingham Rock City (20)
