The Pretenders singer to join Hybrid onstage at the English leg of the dance festival...

Chrissie Hynde is to join trance trio Hybrid on stage at the English HOMELANDS FESTIVAL at The Bowl, Matterley, Winchester on May 27-28 to perform their version of THE PRETENDERS’ hit ‘KID’.

Hybrid covered ‘Kid’, a track which was originally featured on The Pretenders’ eponymous debut album in 1980, and renamed it ‘Kid 2000’ for the forthcoming Harry Enfield film ‘Kevin & Perry Go Large’. The film is the cinematic version of the ‘Kevin The Teenager’ sketch from the comedy series ‘Harry Enfield & Chums’.

Hynde, who provides vocals on the single, will join the band onstage just for teh one song.

Other bands confirmed to play this year’s Homelands include Leftfield, Public Enemy and Ian Brown, as well as DJ sets from Paul van Dyk, Scratch Perverts, Pete Tong and Carl Cox.

‘Kid 2000’ is released on May 15 through Distinctive Breaks/Virgin Records. It will be backed with dance remixes by the band across the formats. The film ‘Kevin & Perry Go Large’ is on general release in the UK from this Friday (April 21).
