Andy Burrows urges fans to back threatened London venue

Andy Burrows and Editors frontman Tom Smith united onstage last night (September 23) as I Am Arrows played threatened London venue the 100 Club.

The pair duetted at the climax of the set, performing a cover of Black‘s 1987 hit ‘Wonderful Life’ together.

The venue’s future is in doubt due to soaring costs, and during the set Burrows urged the crowd to sign a petition to support the 100 Club‘s future after reports it could close by Christmas.

Speaking to NME after the show Burrows explained how the link up with Smith came about.

“Ever since I did the ‘Colour Of My Dreams’ show at the Union Chapel Tom and I have talked about doing something together,” he explained.

“We’d love to get a studio some day, but he’s such a good friend so we asked him to sing on the tour, and he suggested ‘Wonderful Life’ which really worked. It’s an honour to sing with him.”

I Am Arrows played:

‘Nun’
‘Picture Of You’
‘Nice Try’
‘Hurricane’
‘The Us’
‘No Wonder’
‘Bruises’
‘Park Slopey’
‘Wonderful Life’
‘Green Grass’
