IDLES announce new album ‘Joy as an Act of Resistance,’ plus world tour dates

The Bristol five-piece have also shared a video for new single 'DANNY NEDELKO'

IDLES have announced their new album titled ‘Joy as an Act of Resistance,’ set for release later this year.

It follows their critically-acclaimed debut record ‘Brutalism’ and was mixed by Adam Greenspan and Nick Launay who have previously worked with Arcade Fire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Kate Bush.

The Bristol punks have also shared the album’s first single – ‘Danny Nedelko’– along with a new video for the track, which you can watch below.

‘Joy as an Act of Resistance’ will be released via Partisan on August 31. Speaking of the LP’s inspirations, frontman Joe Talbot said, “This album is an attempt to be vulnerable to our audience and to encourage vulnerability; a brave naked smile in this shitty new world.

“We have stripped back the songs and lyrics to our bare flesh to allow each other to breathe, to celebrate our differences, and act as an ode to communities and the individuals that forge them. Because without our community, we’d be nothing.” You can see the album’s artwork and tracklisting below.
