IDLEWILD TURN TO FOX!

Gavin Fox shares his joy with NME.COM...

Idlewild have announced the replacement for bassist BOB FAIRFOULL.

Gavin Fox, who is a close friend of the group, will join the band from Irish rockers Turn.

In addition to the 23-year-old bassist, Allan Stewart, who has played guitar live with Idlewild for the last two years and has contributed to ‘The Remote Part’ album, will become a full-time member, expanding the band to a five-piece.

Speaking to NME.COM today (November 20), Fox said: “Hopefully every bass player has a different style and that’s all I can bring. I’ll have a fresh input because I haven’t been doing it for seven years like the lads. I’ll be in and I’ll be excited and maybe I’ll get them all excited about the old stuff again.

“We’re all friends. The lads from my old band will keep on touring and we actually just finished an album that’s going to be released in February. Everything’s cool really!”

The new look Idlewild, who are touring in December, will make their live debut on a new UK tour next year, which calls at: Derry Nerve Centre (January 30)

Belfast Queens University (31)
