IDLEWILD HAVE GOT IT COVERED

The Scots rockers' attempt new versions of old classics as bonus tracks on their new single...

Idlewild have covered songs by Bob Dylan and Echo And The Bunnymen for the B-side of their new single, ‘THESE WOODEN IDEAS’ released on June 12.

The follow-up to their Top 30 single ‘Actually, It’s Darkness’, it is the third to be taken from their Number 15 album ‘100 Broken Windows’, released last month.

The B-sides are ‘There’s Glory In Your Story’, a cover of Bob Dylan‘s ‘When The Ship Comes In’ and Echo And The Bunnymen‘s ‘Rescue’.

The band, who kick off a string of European dates in Lille in France tonight (May 16), will play an in-store gig at London‘s city centre Virgin Megastore on June 12 to launch a new Dr Martens-sponsored compilation album featuring The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Iggy Pop and Prodigy among others.

Idlewild also play the Radio One ‘Big Sunday’ gig with Hanson, Craig David and Stephen Gately on May 28 in Falkirk, followed by appearances at Glastonbury (June 23), T In The Park (July 9), Reading (August 26) and Leeds (27) festivals.
