STRONG POP ELEMENT AT THIS YEAR’S CARLING WEEKEND

And the former Stooge also has an album due out in the summer...

IGGY POP has been added to the bill for CARLING WEEKEND READING and LEEDS festivals this August bank holiday weekend.

The rocker, who will also appear at Glasgow Gig On The Green the same weekend, has also announced details of his new album, ‘Beat ‘Em Up’, slated for release in the summer.

The follow-up to 1999’s ‘Avenue B’, it was produced by Pop himself.

Pop, currently on tour in North America, will perform at Reading on August 24, Leeds on 25 and Glasgow on 26, with guitarist Pete Marshall switching to bass in the touring line-up to replace the late Lloyd “Mooseman” Roberts, the Body Count guitarist who was killed in a drive-by shooting last year, who played bass on the album.
