Band prepare new songs for London show

Infadels are set to preview material off their new album when they play Club NME KOKO in London on Friday (April 23).

The band will be joined on the bill by Visitor and DJs Jeff Automatic, Ed Wilder and Gold Blood.

Richie Vernon from Infadels told NME.COM: “It’s a very special show for us coming back after finishing the new record. We were guilty of burning ourselves out hard by the end of 2008. A break was needed and now we’re fully charged and ready for battle.”

“We’re going to give three or so new tunes their first run out. It’s always exciting and terrifying to play something totally new. You’re never sure exactly what is going to happen. If you look into our eyes you’ll see us all clinging on for dear life.

“We’ve gone back and rediscovered our love of electronics and synths on this new record so there’s certainly more of a dance floor vibe going on. We have a new tune called ‘Encounters Of The First Kind’ that sounds like the evil twin of ‘Zombie Nation’. I think it’s quite possibly the heaviest thing we’ve ever done.”

He added: “Those who have seen the band a few times will notice a lot more keyboards around the stage and other general carnage. We hope to see you all down the front. By the end there’s a good chance I’ll be in there with you!”

Next week (April 30) Lucky Soul and The Like will take to the stage at the London club night in Camden’s KOKO, meanwhile, Art vs Science and Philadelphia Grand Jury are lined up to play on May 7.
